Ground Penetrating Radar is a non-destructive scanning technology used by construction professionals to inspect what’s happening inside concrete, asphalt, soil, and other building materials—without drilling or breaking the surface.
GPR sends high-frequency electromagnetic waves into the material. When the waves hit objects or changes in density, they bounce back and create a visual map. This allows workers to quickly locate:
— Rebar, mesh, and post-tension cables
— Electrical conduits and pipes
— Voids, cracks, and areas of weak concrete
— Structural elements hidden below the surface
